    1. I think it is. I kept the gum, so theoretically it could be a Holmes/Moriarty over the falls deal, with a miraculous comeback, but I think this project is done.

    2. It's been great, thanks for keeping at it.

  2. I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Time Warner Cable is behind this, isn't it?

    1. It's Comcast running a false flag operation trying to make us THINK it was Time Warner Cable.

      Ah, conspiracy theories.

  3. That was the funniest thing I've seen in three years here.......I mean in 'the' three years (period).

    1. That's right. The Pentagon gave it the code name Operation Gumdrop.

  7. Let me guess. Some publicist complained....
This stinks from the ledge down.
Say goodbye to the only truly original piece of comedy
in the history of the Internet.
    Well done, my hallway brethren.

    1. Nah, it's cool. It was my own decision. I'm going to very busy with other outside projects, and by now CelebriGum had made its statement. What the statement was, future generations must figure out.

A salute to you, hallway brethren. Thanks for the support.

  8. I'm guessing the building superintendent is behind this. Don't you guys just lease that place? In any event, it blows (and I don't mean bubbles).

  9. Wow! didn't watch the video. Sorry to hear the gum is being removed. Hope you come up with something else by which to communicate your unique style and sense of humor to us directly. Thanks for the entertainment & enjoyment. All the best to you, Steve.

    1. Thanks, Jan! I do encourage you to watch the video. There's a celebrity in it!

Don't worry, I won't be disappearing from the internet. Perplexing and wonderful projects til they pry the keyboard from my cold dead hands.

    1. Yeah, I was completely overshadowing his stupid little project in which he took pictures of old gum juxtaposed with City Council members, Borough presidents, and Community Board members. So it was "suggested" to me that perhaps the gum should "fall off" unless I wanted the Ed Sullivan Theater "condemned" and "replaced by bike share bikes."

  13. I am devastated. Where will I go now for all of my celebrity with old gum photos??

    1. Well, where did you go prior to three years ago?

  14. Even though the gum is gone, I just "liked" this on that FaceBook thingie.

  15. On behalf of the organization "Friends of Celebrigum" I have no option but to point out that by ceasing this website you will be in violation of the written contract as stated in the first sentence of said contract at the top of the page: "Every afternoon I stand by a second floor window in the Ed Sullivan Theater and take mediocre photos of guests as they enter and leave the Late Show with David Letterman...."

Clearly if you terminate Celebrigum you will not be standing by the window "every afternoon" taking your mediocre photos. This is a clear violation of the contract between you and the consumers of Celebrigum, including, but not limited to "Friends of Celebrigum" its successors, assigns and subsidiaries. You are hereby warned in the strongest possible terms that legal action will follow, should any action be taken to terminate Celebrigum, including but not limited to garnishment of wages and petition for transfer of the deed to One Celebrigum Plaza. It would seem that your path is clear, but clearly the choice of action is yours.

    1. Dear Sir,

I would argue that the absence of the gum nullifies... nah, you know what, I'm not going to bother. You can have One CelebriGum Plaza. It's a white elephant--terrible heating and air conditioning bills, vermin problems, and 13 out of 15 of the Starbucks stores on the ground floor suck. Good riddance.

  16. It was a great run, with many twists and turns and a lot of laughs and surprises. Thanks Steve for making these last three years GUMTASTIC. You rock!

  17. Hey I just noticed that Celebrigum is still being actively promoted on the Late Show website. WTF?!?! I thought Celebrigum was deader than a rat in the kitchen at the Late Show commissary.

    1. So far there's no new gum-related Late Show side project that the website guys likes better.

Don't you miss the witty and pleasant repartee you used to have with your followers?
