"A perfectly silly, genius idea" -- David Letterman

Alec Baldwin

In 2010 I would have been content with this perfectly fine, perfectly ordinary picture of Alec Baldwin arriving at the Ed Sullivan Theater.

But at this point, more than two years and 400 entries in, I strive for more.  So I went back to the window to catch Alec leaving, hoping for some odd, transcendent moment.

Alec's about to step into his car…

… and as he sits down, a man appears carrying a child size gift-wrapped rocking chair.

Celebrity, miniature rocking chair, old gum.  Taking evocative yet meaningless juxtapositions to new heights: that's today's CelebriGum.

  1. Is there a furniture outlet near the theater? Or perhaps one of your colleagues has a pop-up shop on the side? Or perhaps this is a knock-off rocker? Anyway, those Black Friday sales are starting earlier and earlier.-- Love the nighttime shots now. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

    1. It's all a mystery. New York City street life is about all I can say.

Glad you like the nighttime shots. You'll be seeing them for a while.

And Happy Thanksgiving to you... though according to my schedule I'll be putting another entry up on Thursday, so we can go through this again then.

    2. Perhaps it came from "Rocking Chair Man." You know, that guy who walks around town wearing rocking chairs around his neck.

  2. Actually that chair was thrown by Mr. Baldwin at the paparazzi moments before your photo. I have it on good authority.
