Two Guys Who Pretend To Go Fast, And One Who Really Does

CAUTION: NEW STAR TREK MOVIE SPOILER

From "Star Trek Into Darkness," here's Chris Pine, who plays James Kirk…

… and Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Khan.

Their characters travel through space at "warp speed."

(Aside to Star Trek fans: is Spock a last or first name?  I somehow always thought Spock looked like a Jeff.  Jeff Spock.  Come on, Steve, focus.)

But here's a guy who actually goes fast:

Graham Rahal, who'll be competing in this weekend's Indy 500.

Indy cars can reach speeds of over --

WE INTERRUPT THIS CELEBRIGUM ENTRY FOR BLATANT SELF-PROMOTION

Check this out.

My friend Sport and I have written a beautiful, strange, amazing book we're really proud of.

It'll be out this fall.  Learn more here.

There's no truth to the rumor that for nearly three years I've operated CelebriGum merely as a scheme to build an audience for this book.

But hey, it couldn't hurt.

  1. Well, your crafty promotional plan has worked. Just pre-ordered my copy at Amazon.com, with their release day price guarantee(which I know works, since I've had my pre-order price reduced before). Anyway, hope your Late Show segment will include a musical number.
    Enjoy your holiday weekend!

  2. I may have to wait for the movie version to come out my my local station's "Saturday Night Million Dollar Movie" show. Congratulations though.

    1. Change that first "my" to "on". Also, your book is giving me an idea to write a play about something. Maybe a musical.

  3. Celebrity gum photography and industrial musicals - you're certainly a man with his finger on the pulse of popular culture.

  4. 1) Thanks for the SPOILER re Cumberbatch, dear. Not everyone has seen Star Trek Into Darkness yet.

    2) Spock is his last name. His first name is an unpronounceable string of syllables denoting his heritage (son of Sarek, son of etc. etc.)

    1. Sorry! I forgot that was a spoiler!

Thanks for the Spock info. I was genuinely curious.

I'll put Spoiler Alert on the top.

  5. (Aside to CelebriGum fans: is Steve a last or first name? I somehow always thought Steve looked like "The Nuclear Kid". Come on, Jason, focus.)
